Module 3:

Hands-On Comprehensive Assessment in Ayres Sensory Integration

Boston, MA: July 24-27, 2025

Module 3 provides hands-on practice and review of all aspects of sensory integration and praxis with a variety of assessments that were introduced in Module 2. During the onsite Module 3, participants will have an opportunity to clarify any questions they have about the information presented in the online instruction, practice assessment administration and scoring with peers, and, when possible, practice the assessments with children brought into the course. *Module 2 is a prerequisite to Module 3.

  • After the course, participants will be able to:

    1. Describe an assessment plan for a client

    2. Describe the evaluations appropriate to assess ASI constructs in all areas

    3. Analyze the psychometric strength of the evaluations

    4. Reliably administer the EASI and SPM

    5. Understand the constructs tested by sensory related measures

    6. Design clinical observations of sensory integration constructs when standardized measures are not possible

    7. Demonstrate competence in the application of clinical observations based on ASI

    8. Identify whether an evaluation report meets the standard for structural elements on ASI Intervention Fidelity Measure

    Participants should bring their own EASI kits (excluding larger items) to M3. Order an EASI starter kit here.

  • Open to healthcare professionals with at least bachelor level equivalent college/university degrees in occupational therapy, speech pathology, physical therapy, psychology, or medicine. Module 2 is a prerequisite to Module 3.

    Financial- The instructor receives an honorarium payment for instructing this module. Zoe is the author of other modules in the CLASI Certificate in ASI (CLASI CASI) program, including M2 which is a prerequisite for M3. She received royalty payments from CLASI for M2 and other CLASI modules. She is the instructor for other CLASI CASI modules for which she receives honorarium payments.

    Required Materials:
    A checklist of items needed for learning, practicing, administering, and scoring the EASI will be provided in the resources section of CLASI's assessment Modules (Modules 2 & 3). The estimated total cost for the EASI items is $200-$300.

    Participants in the CLASI CASI who have access to SIPT materials and who wish to test children on the SIPT as part of the case requirements may do so. Therapists will be guided through the interpretation process with the tests they apply and through cases provided in the modules.

    Reasonable Safety and Risk: CLASI is committed to safe and accessible access to our educational program for all involved wherever it is offered. Therefore CLASI reserves the right to change the delivery format to synchronous virtual instruction for any onsite modules with safety risks to instructors or participants. This includes unforeseen natural disasters, pandemic-related concerns, and political or other uprisings. Registered participants will be notified immediately if a format change is required. CLASI will attempt to provide training at another site, date, or format. CLASI will refund registration fees if an alternative is not possible for a participant. CLASI is not responsible for any participant travel or lodging fees in the event of a format change.
